Innotime Hungary Kft. provides sustainability consulting to all players in the tourism ecosystem. We support destinations, local governments, tourism organizations and businesses in the development, development and measurement of sustainable operations. Our services range from strategic planning and organizational development to full preparation for international sustainability certifications and auditing.
We treat sustainable and data-driven tourism in an interconnected way. We assign specific measures, responsibilities and measurable results to environmental, social and economic goals. Our professional support helps to ensure that sustainability becomes part of development decisions, daily operations, quality assurance and cooperation with partners.
Why should all stakeholders in tourism address sustainability?
The future of tourism is closely linked to the state of the values on which its offer is built. The natural environment, cultural heritage, local communities and a functioning local economy are not just a backdrop for welcoming guests: they are the foundations of the tourist experience and long-term viability. Sustainable tourism therefore simultaneously deals with preserving values, increasing local benefits and managing adverse impacts.
For a town or region This means that tourism development must be planned in conjunction with the quality of life of the population, the opportunities for local businesses and the carrying capacity of the area. It is not enough to know how many guests arrive: it is also necessary to examine where and when excessive loads occur, how much the local economy benefits from tourism revenues and how residents and visitors evaluate the changes.
At the enterprise level Sustainability is reflected in very specific operational issues. In the case of an accommodation or catering establishment, these include resource use, procurement, waste prevention, staff employment and guest information. In addition to welcoming visitors, an attraction also has a decisive role in preserving the natural or cultural values on display. These aspects are also linked to the quality of services and the efficiency of operations.
The local government, the destination management organization, the accommodation provider, the program organizer and the local producer perform different tasks, but they are all part of the same tourism system. Therefore, Innotime, in addition to developing individual organizations, also deals with collaborations: we help separate initiatives to be linked to common goals, and sustainability tasks have a professional manager, a feasible plan and trackable results.
What does Innotime's sustainability consulting offer?
We begin our collaboration by exploring the partner’s actual operations. We examine existing practices, available data, organizational tasks, and development goals. We identify what is already working well, what is not yet measured or documented, and what needs to be changed.
Based on this, we develop the sustainability strategy, the action plan and the conditions for implementation. For destinations, planning involves organizational development, the development of the operating and management model, and the involvement of local actors. For businesses, we manage sustainability goals together with service quality, internal processes and efficiency improvement opportunities.
We help with implementation through training, mentoring, complex monitoring and digital decision support. We determine what data is worth collecting, how it should be evaluated and how it can be used in subsequent decisions.
Our sustainability consulting can be used independently or as part of certification preparation. For partners planning certification, we coordinate operational development with the requirements of the chosen international program and guide them through the professional tasks of preparation.
For destinations: Green Destinations
Green Destinations provides a common framework for the sustainability tasks of settlements and regions: it helps coordinate the work of local actors, identify development priorities and verify results. Innotime undertakes full preparation, from situation assessment, through research and strategic documents to the compilation of qualification documentation. We also perform auditing on a separate assignment, separate from preparation, according to the program's independence rules.
For accommodations, restaurants, attractions, information offices: Good Travel Seal
We prepare accommodations, restaurants, attractions and other service providers for international certification based on the KSTC principles. We translate the requirements into the daily practice of the business: from procurement and resource use to employee engagement and guest information. We help with the necessary developments, data collection and documentation.
For travel agencies and MICE operators: Bioscore Tourism Business Certification
We provide Hungarian language certification training for travel, event planning and other tourism businesses. We review operational processes, identify development tasks, and support the compilation of data and evidence necessary for the assessment.
Unique digital support for measuring and communicating sustainability and quality management for all members of the tourism sector: I-DEST
Our in-house developed I-DEST system is a complex tourism framework with a sustainability approach. It connects self-assessment, monitoring and digital decision support.
