Services – Sustainable tourism and data-driven consulting

Professional solutions for sustainable and data-driven tourism

Innotime Hungary supports the development and operation of sustainable tourism through research, strategic planning, organizational development and digital solutions. The data-driven approach serves to integrate environmental, social and economic aspects into decisions and to evaluate measures. We build on the practical and theoretical experience of our leading consultants for more than twenty years. Our services can be used independently or in a development process that builds on each other.

Strategic planning for sustainable tourism

We prepare tourism development strategies, complex development plans and action plans for settlements, regions and tourism organizations. In addition to demand and supply, we also examine the interests of local communities, natural and cultural values and operating conditions. We involve the relevant service providers, institutions and community actors in the planning.

We define goals and measures that serve economic viability together with local benefits and value preservation. The action plan contains executable tasks, responsibilities, schedules and trackable indicators. The documentation also provides a basis for further decisions and the organization of implementation.

Data-driven management in the service of sustainability goals

We determine what decisions and sustainability goals data management should inform. In addition to traffic, we assign data sources for local economic relations, resident and visitor experiences, and environmental and operational aspects. We explore available information and gaps, and then plan a strategy for data collection and data processing.

In the data-driven operation model, we record the order of data updating, verification and interpretation, as well as how the results are delivered to decision-makers. The content of the assignment can be a data source map, an indicator system, a data processing strategy and a usage model related to management decisions. The goal is for data management to have a defined role in the operation.

Tourism research and image analysis

We base the development and communication of sustainable tourism on visitor, population and service provider research. In addition to awareness, motivations and service experiences, we can also examine the impacts of tourism perceived by locals. We use questionnaires, interviews, workshops, statistical analysis and processing of public guest opinions, depending on the task.

The delivered result can be a research report, processed data table, target group analysis, executive summary and development proposal, depending on the assignment. In addition to the conclusions, we present the sample, the data collection period and the methodological limitations. We interpret the responses of the local population, previous guests and potential visitors separately.

Destination management: organizational development, management, operation

We support the establishment of new destination management organizations and the development of existing ones. We link clear responsibilities, collaborations and evaluation systems to sustainability tasks. We review decision-making circles, service provider and institutional relationships, and operational conditions. We adapt the organizational model to the goals, scale and resources of the destination.

The planning covers the relationship between strategic management and daily work, the tasks of the employees and the order of cooperation. The result of the assignment can be an organizational development proposal, a destination management model, an operational plan or documentation describing the division of tasks and operation. We can also support the implementation with professional consultation and mentoring.

Complex monitoring and digital decision support

Complex monitoring allows us to track not only tourism performance but also the achievement of sustainability goals. According to the mandate, we combine economic, social and environmental aspects with the examination of quality, accessibility, guest needs and local feedback. We define the indicators, data sources, and the order of updating and data verification.

Digital decision support links the summaries to management questions: where intervention is warranted, how sustainability and quality indicators are developing, and where appropriate information is missing. The I-DEST framework can also be used for digital data collection and review of results. In the project, we record the content of the measurement, data coverage, and applied functions; we do not produce proven performance from missing data.

Corporate consulting for sustainable, quality and efficient operations

We provide advice on sustainability, quality assurance and development tasks for tourism businesses. We examine responsible resource use, service processes and economical operation together. Depending on the business's activities, local procurement, employee cooperation and guest information practices may also be part of the task. We adapt development proposals to actual operational data and available capacities.

For quality improvement, we define the expectations to be followed and the control procedure, and for sustainability measures, we assign responsibilities and assessable goals. We examine the possibilities for increasing efficiency by taking into account service quality and environmental and social aspects. The result of the assignment can be an operational evaluation, a development plan, a quality assurance proposal or consulting to support implementation.

Sustainability preparation and preliminary assessment

As part of our sustainability operational development, we prepare destinations and tourism businesses for the Green Destinations, Good Travel Seal and Bioscore programmes. We compare the requirements with existing practice, identify documentation and operational gaps and then determine the necessary measures. Our advice is not limited to certification: we integrate the tasks of preparation into long-term operations and regular evaluation.

We help with data collection, organizing supporting documents, preparing professional plans, and following up on tasks. We also perform a preliminary assessment or a mock audit, depending on the assignment. The preparation and mock audit do not replace the assessment according to the given program; the qualification decision is made according to the program rules.

Digital systems and independent destination portals

We design digital tourism systems and models supporting sustainable, data-driven operations. Our own development, I-DEST, is a complex tourism framework with a sustainability approach. We develop independent destination portals on its engine, which connect visitor information with sustainability monitoring, service provider cooperation and destination management decision support.

During the development, we design the public interface and professional workflows together. We record the content and data management order, the permissions, the monitoring and decision support needs, and any external integrations. We adapt the selected functions to the organization's tasks and sustainable operating options.

Tourism product and attraction development

We develop tourism offers based on natural, cultural and local economic values. When planning thematic routes, active and ecotourism offers, and programs connecting local producers and service providers, we examine the visitor experience together with the conditions of value preservation, local utilization and operation. In the development proposals, we also take into account the sensitivity of the locations and the tasks of responsible visitor information.

Training, mentoring and professional workshops

We support the application of strategies and systems with practical training and mentoring. We link issues of sustainable operation, quality assurance and data-driven management to the participants' own tasks. The I-DEST e-learning platform also provides opportunities for independent learning, and personal and online consultations support local implementation.

How does the collaboration start?

During the first meeting, we will review the task, existing materials, deadline, and expected results. Based on this, we will prepare the offer, specifying the documents to be provided and the terms of cooperation.

At home in (every) destination

Sustainability is at the center!

The challenges are similar, but every tourist destination is different, and it can only be competitive if it can emphasize its unique features, make it attractive, more attractive than other destinations. With two decades of practical experience, our company's employees help tourist regions and attractions identify, present and make these unique features attractive, implementing international best practices and putting together experience packages that make the given region attractive to both domestic and foreign guests.

Our team does not dream up developments from their desks - all our projects are preceded by serious primary research, market research and many, many on-site consultations and field trips in order to offer the best solutions for the given area.

Financial, social and environmental sustainability are at the center of our company's development principles, which is why we prepare a business plan based on real numbers for all our developments and prioritize energy-saving, environmentally friendly solutions when defining the equipment used.

As the Hungarian representative of Green Destinations, we keep all international sustainability aspects in mind when planning our projects.
