Innotime Hungary Kft's sustainable tourism platform, I-DEST, has reached another important milestone: one of the most prestigious global organizations in the tourism sector, the Skål International awarded our initiative with a certificate of recognition from 2026 Skål International Sustainable Tourism Awards within the framework.

We are delighted that the forefront of the international tourism industry is paying attention to the work we do in measuring sustainability and supporting communication in accordance with Green Claims guidelines, and this is a huge affirmation for us.

What is Skål International and the Sustainable Tourism Awards?

Founded in 1934, Skål International, of which Innotime Hungary will be a member from the beginning of 2026, is the only global organization in the world that brings together all branches and leaders of the tourism industry. The organization founded Sustainable Tourism Awards one of the most prestigious international competitions for sustainable and responsible tourism.

This year, 74 global projects were evaluated in five different categories. The entries were evaluated by an independent international jury of experts representing leading organizations in the tourism and sustainability sectors, based on a rigorous set of professional criteria. The aim of the competition is to identify and showcase to the world the best practices and innovations that make a significant contribution to protecting the planet and local communities.

What did the international jury say about I-DEST?

The independent panel of experts particularly highlighted the strength and practical utility of the I-DEST concept. In their evaluation, they highlighted the following factor as the main virtue of the project:

„I-DEST presents a highly relevant digital solution that makes sustainability more visible, measurable and accessible for both tourism stakeholders and visitors.”

This feedback confirms exactly what we wanted to do when we created I-DEST: to provide travelers with sustainable travel decisions not as cumbersome rules, but as a transparent, digitally accessible, and enjoyable experience.

Our latest program: I-DEST Global Sustainability Challenges Game

Complying with the EU Green Claims guidelines is not an easy task for tourism operators, and in the past few months we have had to make several changes to I-DEST's sustainability communication in order to comply with international sustainability communication requirements. In light of this, we have developed and launched, however, after the judging by Skål International, the I-DEST Global Sustainability Challenges, which represents a completely new milestone in the life of the platform, and to which we look forward to tourism businesses joining.

The recognition gives our team a huge boost, so with the trust of the industry behind us, we continue to build the digital future of sustainable tourism, and we look forward to everyone joining us on this journey.

More than two years of continuous development: Milestones achieved by the CROSSDEST project

I-DEST's recognition did not come out of nowhere, but is the result of persistent and systematic development work over the past two years. A key milestone in this process was the support of the CROSSDEST grant, which allowed the platform to develop into a comprehensive, complex digital ecosystem.

With the help of the grant, we have built fundamental pillars that serve tourism players, professionals, and visitors who choose sustainable travel:

  • E-learning platform: A modern, knowledge-sharing platform has been created, which helps tourism players acquire a green approach with practical training and teaching materials.
  • Internal monitoring tools: We have developed digital tracking systems that allow sustainability processes and indicators to be tracked and analyzed in real time.
  • Quality management module: A tool that supports the maintenance and continuous development of the quality of services, ensuring that green commitments are implemented at a high professional level in practice.
  • Free sustainability self-assessment platform: An easily accessible tool that allows tourism service providers to assess their own sustainability maturity free of charge and get an accurate picture of their development opportunities.

The technological and professional advances of the recent period have created the stable foundation upon which we have been able to attract the attention of the international profession.
