1. Introduction and company profile
Innotime Hungary Kft. is a Hungarian-based consulting company specializing in sustainable tourism development. We operate not only in Hungary, but also in other regions of the Carpathian Basin inhabited by Hungarians, contributing to the sustainable development of cross-border tourism.
Our headquarters are located in the small forest village of Bükkszék, surrounded by forests, which both symbolizes and reinforces our commitment to nature, sustainability, and rural quality of life.
2. Sustainability commitment
Innotime Hungary Kft., as a responsible company, is strongly committed to conducting its activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and to actively contribute to the implementation of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We declare that:
- We consider economic, social and environmental impacts in our business decisions.
- We are constantly striving to reduce our carbon emissions and minimize our ecological footprint.
- We promote the free dissemination of sustainable tourism knowledge among businesses, destinations and civil society actors.
- We actively support the preservation of biodiversity and the development of local communities.
- We review and publicly report on our sustainability commitments annually.
3. Our activities according to sustainability dimensions
3.1 Environmental dimension
Our commitments to protecting the natural environment and mitigating climate change:
|
Green mobility and emission reduction • We operate a fleet of green license plate (electric/hybrid) cars in 100%. • Our employees work from home, reducing emissions associated with commuting. • We coordinate meetings to be held at project sites to minimize travel. • Where possible, we travel to meetings by public transport. • We maintain paperless communication and administration. |
|
Biodiversity and habitat conservation • We have created a courtyard with herbs and wildflowers in our Bükkszék center. • We planted native fruit trees, strengthening local biodiversity. • We located our headquarters in a natural forest environment, minimizing intervention. • We collect rainwater and use it for irrigation wherever and whenever possible. |
|
Energy-efficient operation • We use energy-efficient devices and equipment in our offices and headquarters. • We consciously minimize energy consumption during daily operations. |
|
Waste reduction and circular economy • We do not use PET bottles; where unavoidable, we donate the return fee to charity. • We use selective waste collection: by separately collecting paper, plastic, glass and other fractions, we minimize the amount of waste going to landfill. • We also prefer local products for promotional purposes, reducing the transportation footprint. |
3.2 Social dimension
Our commitments in the field of social responsibility and community development:
|
Knowledge sharing and capacity building • We provide a free I-DEST.com self-assessment questionnaire – any tourism business in the world can receive a free sustainability report and benchmarking data. • We operate a free e-learning platform for the sustainable development of businesses. • We hold free public and B2B presentations on sustainable tourism almost every week. • We cooperate with domestic universities as guest lecturers, consultants and instructors. • We provide free consultation opportunities for settlements and destinations. |
|
CSR and community engagement • We support the communication and marketing activities of the Novohrad-Nógrád Geopark. • We support civil organizations working for sick children and injured people. • We provide free exposure to sustainable SMEs and destinations on the I-DEST platform. • We encourage our employees to buy and use local products. |
|
Sustainable Destination Award • We launched the Sustainable Destination Award, which aims to encourage and recognize the sustainable development of smaller and larger destinations. • The award will be given in categories based on population, ensuring that small villages and larger cities have an equal opportunity and equally relevant preparation to participate. • The year-round, structured preparation process is available free of charge to all participating destinations, regardless of size. • The winning destinations will receive one-year, free professional mentoring from the sustainability experts of Innotime Hungary Kft. • Through the award and the preparation program, we actively contribute to the practical implementation of sustainable tourism in the Carpathian Basin. |
|
Equal opportunities and fair employment • When selecting our employees, we apply equal opportunity principles: we do not discriminate based on gender, age, nationality, disability or any other personal characteristics. • We support flexible working: home office options and work schedules tailored to individual needs are our default practice. • We take into account the unique life situations of our employees, including family-friendly needs (e.g. raising children, caring responsibilities), and adapt the working framework to these. • We strive to create an inclusive, respectful workplace culture where everyone has an equal opportunity to develop professionally. |
|
Digital accessibility • We design and operate our websites – both innotime-hungary.com and I-DEST.com – in an accessible manner, ensuring that people with disabilities can fully access our digital content. • On the I-DEST.com platform, we separately measure and publicly present the accessible services of registered destinations and tourism businesses, thus helping travelers with disabilities to find information and make decisions. • In this way, we actively contribute to the development of inclusive tourism and the spread of barrier-free travel in the Carpathian Basin and beyond. |
3.3 Economic and knowledge-based dimension
|
Research and innovation • We conduct primary research annually on the attitudes of domestic travelers towards sustainable tourism, which we share with the sector free of charge. • We regularly monitor and summarize international benchmarking reports for tourism businesses in the Carpathian Basin. • We provide a globally accessible, free sustainability measurement tool through the I-DEST platform. |
